The Hockey News

The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Oct. 26-Nov. 1 is Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Tomas Kaberle.

Logging about 24 minutes of ice time per night, Kaberle led the way for Toronto, notching two goals and 12 points in four games on the week.

In his team’s first win of the season, Kaberle posted five points against Anaheim – all on the power play. Against Dallas, Kaberle has his worst game of the week, but still tallied an assist with the man advantage.

To cap off the week against division rivals Buffalo and Montreal, Kaberle was a combined plus-4 with six points and four penalty minutes.

Despite only having 24 shots on goal all season, Kaberle leads all NHL defensemen in scoring with two goals and 17 points in 12 games.
