Power play needs Schenn boost

I don't understand why Ron Wilson doesn't give Luke Schenn a chance on the power play. When you watch Leaf games, Schenn joins the rush and makes smart plays from the blueline.

For instance, instead of trying to just blast the puck from the point all the time, Schenn is patient and waits defenders out before throwing a nice wrist shot at the net.

So, instead of throwing Lee Stempniak out on the point, why not reward Schenn’s great play with some power play time?
