Predators sign forward Joel Ward to two-year contract
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Forward Joe Ward agreed to a two-year deal with the Nashville Predators, the club announced Wednesday.
Ward, who is going into his second full NHL season, signed a two-year, US$3-million contract with Nashville. He had 17 goals and 18 assists in 79 games with the Preds last season.
The 6-1, 220-pound Toronto native was also tied for eighth among NHL forwards in blocked shots (69), and fourth on the club in average short-handed ice time.
Prior to signing with Nashville, Ward spent three seasons in the Minnesota organization, playing 11 NHL games with the Wild in 2006-07.
