Rangers acquire forward Sean Avery in five-player swap with Kings

The Los Angeles Kings dealt the abrasive forward and junior winger John Seymour to the Rangers for forwards Jason Ward, Marc-Andre Clich and Jan Marek. Known as much for his antics as his skills, Avery should put a charge into a moribund Rangers squad.

They are 3-6 in their last nine games and 7-13 in their last 20.

During that span, the Rangers have been limited to two goals or fewer 11 times.

For the Kings, the deal is the latest move aimed at the future.
