NEW YORK, N.Y. - The New York Rangers say centre Erik Christensen will miss four to six weeks because of a knee injury.

Christensen, who has spent time this season on the Rangers' top line alongside Marian Gaborik, sustained a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during New York's 3-1 victory at New Jersey on Monday night. The injury was revealed in an MRI on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old forward, in his second season with the Rangers, has six goals and eight assists in 37 games. He was acquired off waivers from Anaheim last December.
