Rangers captain Drury misses Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs vs. Capitals

WASHINGTON - Rangers captain Chris Drury is sitting out Game 1 of New York's first-round playoff series against the Washington Capitals.

Drury is New York's only scratch for Wednesday night's opener. He returned to practice Tuesday after missing four days with an undisclosed injury and was considered a game-time decision.

Enforcer Donald Brashear and defenceman Brian Pothier were Washington's scratches.

But defenceman Tom Poti and forward Boyd Gordon were in uniform for the Capitals after missing the end of the regular season with injuries.
