Red-hot Blake, Maple Leafs face Sabres

Buffalo (29-22-6) at Toronto (21-25-10), 7:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Jason Blake and the Toronto Maple Leafs will

try to build off an impressive period when they host the Buffalo

Sabres on Tuesday.

In the Maple Leafs' 6-2 triumph over defending Eastern

Conference champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, Blake

netted a pair of goals in a 19-second span early in the third

session.

Blake's spurt sparked a five-goal period for Toronto, which has

lost seven of its previous nine meetings with the Sabres.

The 35-year-old Blake, who leads the club with 44 points this

season, has notched 11 goals and nine assists in his last 13

contests.

Blake and the rest of his teammates did not have much success in

their last meeting with Buffalo on February 4. Thomas Vanek

notched a hat trick as the Sabres cruised to a 5-0 rout of the

Maple Leafs.

Buffalo, which has lost three of its previous four games, is

coming off a 3-0 setback to the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.
