Red-hot Devils host Ovechkin, Capitals

Washington (32-15-4) at New Jersey (32-15-3), 7:00 p.m. EST

NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Devils will try

and extend their winning streak to nine games when the club

hosts the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.

The last two wins for the Devils, who haven't lost since January

11, have followed a similar script.

Trailing 3-2 at Boston on Thursday, New Jersey tied the contest

on Patrik Elias' goal with 1:45 left. Jamie Langenbrunner

followed with the game-winner at 1:11 of overtime.

On Friday, trailing Pittsburgh 3-2, Langenbrunner tied the game

with 31 seconds to play and then scored the game-winner in

overtime.

The Capitals, who are 5-1-1 in their last seven games, are

coming off a 7-4 triumph over Ottawa on Sunday.

All-Star Alex Ovechkin recorded his seventh career hat trick in

the win, one game after scoring twice in a 4-2 victory over the

Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Ovechkin's outburst has him atop

the league with 36 goals.

New Jersey has won two of the three meetings with Washington

this season, claiming both victories in overtime.
