Red Wings activate defenceman Niklas Kronwall from injured reserve

DETROIT - The Red Wings activated defenceman Niklas Kronwall from the injured list on Thursday and assigned defenceman Kyle Quincey to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

Kronwall missed 13 games after injuring his collarbone Jan. 30 against Phoenix. In 48 games this season, he has five goals, 20 assists and a plus-16 rating.

Kronwall is expected to be back in the lineup Friday night when Detroit faces the San Jose Sharks at home.
