Red Wings D Rafalski to miss 3 to 4 weeks following knee surgery

DETROIT - Red Wings defenceman Brian Rafalski will be out 3 to 4 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

The team says Tuesday that the 37-year-old Rafalski won't be placed on the injured list. Detroit recalled defencemandefenceman Doug Janik from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

Rafalski has two assists in two games this season.
