Red Wings eyeing fourth straight win vs. Blue Jackets

Columbus (18-17-4) at Detroit (26-7-5), 7:30 pm EST

DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings will seek their fourth

consecutive victory Tuesday when they host the Columbus Blue

Jackets.

After sweeping a home-and-home series with the Chicago

Blackhawks - which included a victory in the 2009 Winter Classic

- the Red Wings posted a 3-2 shootout triumph over the Minnesota

Wild on Saturday.

Mikael Samuelsson and Johan Franzen scored in regulation before

Pavel Datsyuk netted the lone goal in the bonus format for

Detroit, which is 6-1-1 over its last eight contests.

The Red Wings, who are starting a three-game homestand, have

gone 13-3-2 at Joe Louis Arena this season.

The Blue Jackets have never had much success in Detroit, going

5-16-2 in the "Motor City" since their inception.

Columbus, which is currently on a six-game road swing, had its

four-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a 5-2 setback to

the St. Louis Blues.

Steve Mason, who had allowed just one goal over his previous

four starts, surrendered five goals - including four on the

power play - on 27 shots in that one.
