Red Wings look for third straight win vs. Wild

Detroit (25-7-5) at Minnesota (18-16-2), 8:00 pm EST

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) -- Fresh off their comeback win in

the 2009 Winter Classic, the Detroit Red Wings will visit the

Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

The Red Wings are seeking their third consecutive victory after

sweeping their home-and-home series against the Chicago

Blackhawks, including Thursday's 6-4 triumph at Wrigley Field.

Pavel Datsyuk netted the go-ahead goal in that one, extending

his points streak to nine games. The Russian center has eight

goals and nine assists over that stretch.

The reigning Selke and Lady Byng Trophy winner, Datsyuk leads

the team with 26 assists and 42 points this campaign.

This marks the first meeting between the Western Conference foes

this season. In each of the last three campaigns, Detroit has

defeated Minnesota in three of their four contests.

Defenseman Brent Burns scored the game-winner in overtime and

also collected two assists in Wednesday's impressive 3-2 triumph

over the San Jose Sharks, who own the best record in the West.
