Red Wings seek seventh straight win vs. Stars

Detroit (29-7-5) at Dallas (17-17-6), 8:00 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings will look for their

seventh consecutive victory when they meet the Dallas Stars on

Monday in a rematch of the 2007-08 Western Conference finals.

Mikael Samuelsson netted the go-ahead goal with 2:34 left in the

third period as the Red Wings posted their sixth straight win

Saturday, a 3-1 triumph over the Buffalo Sabres.

Samuelsson also registered an assist, Jiri Hudler scored a goal

and set up another and Marian Hossa added an insurance tally

with 95 seconds remaining for Detroit, which is 14-3-1 since the

end of November.

The Red Wings will now embark on a six-game road trip - all

against conference foes. Detroit cruised to a 6-1 victory over

the Stars on Thursday in their only other meeting this season.

Dallas followed that up with a 1-0 shootout loss to the Phoenix

Coyotes for its fourth loss in six games.

Despite the setback, Marty Turco was credited with his first

shutout of the season and 34th career after making 28 saves in

regulation and overtime.
