Reeling Red Wings hope to end slide vs. Blues

St Louis (20-24-4) at Detroit (31-11-7), 7:00 pm EST

DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings are in unfamiliar

territory.

The Red Wings will look to snap a season-worst, five-game losing

streak when they host the St. Louis Blues on Monday.

Ville Leino scored in his first career game during Saturday's

4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. Johan Franzen also tallied

for the defending Stanley Cup champions, who were without Henrik

Zetterberg for the second straight contest.

The reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Zetterberg has not

played due to back spasms since signing a 12-year, $72-million

contract extension Wednesday.

Chris Mason helped out at both ends of the ice Saturday, making

36 saves to record his third shutout of the season and

collecting an assist as the Blues skated to a 4-0 victory over

the Philadelphia Flyers.

Jay McClement, defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo, David Backes and

rookie Patrik Berglund scored for St. Louis, which is 4-1-1 over

its previous six contests.
