Report: Maple Leafs' Kaberle may welcome trade this season

Tomas Kaberle’s father, Frantisek Sr., has told a Czech hockey magazine he doesn’t believe his son will play for the Maple Leafs for the entire 2010-11 NHL season, despite the fact he has a no-trade clause.

Kaberle Sr., doesn’t believe his son will sign a new contract with the team when his current deal expires after this season, naming coach Ron Wilson as one reason why.

Wilson, who was hired by Toronto prior to the 2008-09 campaign, has a 64-73-27 record in two seasons and has failed to make the playoffs with the Leafs.

Kaberle Sr., did say his son was content with his situation, though, and wouldn’t address trade rumors as they come up this season.

Kaberle was an eighth round pick (204th overall) by Toronto in 1996. He has played 820 career games with he club, scoring 80 goals and 482 points.
