Rogers Media plans to air hockey series '24/7' on Citytv and Sportsnet

TORONTO - Rogers Media has scored the popular hockey reality series "24/7."

The company says it's secured an agreement with the NHL for rights to the HBO show's four upcoming "Red Wings/Maple Leafs: Road to the NHL Winter Classic" episodes.

It plans to air the instalments on Citytv and Sportsnet next season.

The episodes will follow the buildup to the highly anticipated outdoor showdown between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings in the Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium on Jan. 1.

Toronto is the first Canadian team to play in the annual NHL Winter Classic.

Narrated by actor Liev Schreiber, "24/7" follows hockey teams as they prepare for major sporting events.

The show has become known for its revealing behind-the-scenes moments, not to mention its salty locker-room language. It's not clear how the new broadcaster will deal with the profanity.
