Rome scored both goals for Manitoba as Moose edge Rochester Americans 2-1

WINNIPEG - Aaron Rome scored both goals for Manitoba as the Moose edged the Rochester Americans 2-1 on Wednesday night in the AHL.

Moose goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 26 of 27 shots.

Americans scored on their first shot of the night, a mere 26 seconds into the match, as Graham Mink manoeuvred his way around a Moose defender and backhanded the puck in between Schneider's legs.

The Moose (14-10-4) evened it on a 5-on-3 advantage at 17:07 of the first when Rome, situated in front of Ryan Mior's net, capitalized on a wrist shot from the high slot.

The Moose took the lead for good when Rome sliced the puck over Mior's right goal pad to earn his second of the night at 9:08 of the second.

Mior made 22 saves for the Amerks (18-4-1).
