Russian Junior Hockey Player Passes Away

Dynamo Moscow defenseman Valentin Rodionov has passed away at the age of 16.

Dynamo Moscow defenseman Valentin Rodionov has passed away at the age of 16, the Russian Hockey Federation has confirmed.

According to the league, Rodionov lost consciousness during a junior game against CSKA Moscow last Sunday. Rodionov was placed in an induced coma after being transported to the Morozov Children's City Clinical Hospital in Moscow but did not recover.

Rodionov has spent his junior career with Dynamo and also played for Russia's U-17 national team earlier this year.
