BUFFALO, N.Y. - Injured Sabres left-winger Thomas Vanek skated for about 45 minutes on Thursday and said his left foot was feeling better.

He'll be a game-time decision for Game 5 at home on Friday night against the Boston Bruins.

Vanek was favouring his injured foot when he walked into the locker-room after the workout. He said he would skate again on Friday and talk to coach Lindy Ruff before making a decision about whether to play.

Vanek was injured after he was hooked and slashed by Boston defenceman Johnny Boychuk in the opening period of Game 2. Vanek slid hard into the end boards and had difficulty putting weight on the injured foot.

The Bruins lead the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final 3-1 after Wednesday night's 3-2 win in double overtime in Boston.
