Sabres seek fourth straight win

Toronto (10-12-6) at Buffalo (14-11-3), 7:30 pm EST

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The month of November did not

treat the Buffalo Sabres well. The start of this month did not

either, but they seemed to have fixed that.

The Sabres hope to match their season-best, four-game win streak

when they host the struggling Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.

Buffalo went 5-8-0 in November and dropped the first two games

of December, but thanks to an impressive stretch by a

rejuvenated offense, it has gotten back on track.

Thomas Vanek scored two goals and increased his league-leading

total to 22 in the Sabres' 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay

Lightning on Wednesday. He has scored a goal in 16 of 28 games

and has six multi-goal contests.

Buffalo has notched four goals in each of their last three

contests.

Toronto, meanwhile, defeated the New York Islanders, 4-2, on

Monday and snapped its three-game losing streak.

Goaltender Vesa Toskala has started seven straight games,

surrendering two or less goals in five.
