The New York Rangers have signed forward Sammy Blais to a one-year contract worth $1.525 million.

The deal was slightly less than his qualifying offer of $1.6M.

Blais was part of the deal that sent Pavel Buchnevich to the New York Rangers last year. Blais played in just 14 games with the Blues, recording four assists. In 133 games over five seasons with the Blues and Rangers, Blais has 17 goals and 39 points.

Blais required surgery for a torn ACL, but should return fully healthy in time for the 2022-23 regular season.
