San Jose Sharks forward Brad Staubitz receives one game suspension from NHL

TORONTO - The NHL has handed out a one-game suspension to San Jose Sharks forward Brad Staubitz.

During a game on Tuesday, Staubitz hit Davis Drewiske of the Los Angeles Kings after the defenceman had touched the puck for an icing.

Staubitz was assessed a minor penalty for charging on the play.

He'll forfeit US$2,590.67 in salary for the suspension and will be eligible to return Oct. 10 against Minnesota.
