San Jose Sharks place centre Marcel Goc on injured reserve

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The San Jose Sharks placed centre Marcel Goc on injured reserve Friday because of a lower-body injury.

Goc was hurt in San Jose's 5-2 win in Boston on Tuesday night, and missed the Sharks' loss Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.

It is his third injury of the season, following a three-game absence due to back problems in October and a five-game spell three weeks later because of an undisclosed injury. He has two goals and seven assists in 43 games this season.

The Sabres activated defenceman Andrej Sekera. He missed 12 games because of an ankle injury.
