San Jose Sharks recall defenceman Matt Carle from AHL Worcester

The San Jose Sharks have recalled the 22-year-old defenceman from Worcester of the American Hockey League. Carle was assigned to the AHL team on Jan. 2 and had two assists in three games.

He still leads all Sharks defencemen in scoring with 21 points (three goals, 18 assists). Carle is also seventh in rookie scoring and fourth in assists and power-play points among first-year players.

The Sharks have also placed winger Scott Parker on the injured reserve list.
