San Jose Sharks sign forward Torrey Mitchell, two other players

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks signed free-agent forward Torrey Mitchell to a three-year contract.

The team also announced Tuesday it signed restricted free agent forward Brad Staubitz to a one-year contract and centre Benn Ferriero to a two-year deal.

Mitchell missed the 2008-09 regular season with a broken leg but came back to play four games in a first-round playoff loss to Anaheim. Mitchell has 10 goals and 10 assists in 82 career games.

Staubitz played 35 games for the Sharks last year with one goal and two assists.

Ferriero recently completed his senior season at Boston College, where he had 26 points in 37 games.
