San Jose Sharks sign veteran free-agent forward Manny Malhotra

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks have signed free-agent centre Manny Malhotra to a contract.

The team did not announce terms of the deal Wednesday. Malhotra has played 12 seasons in the NHL, posting a career-high 35 points last season with Columbus when he had 11 goals and 24 assists. He also won 58 per cent of his faceoffs for the fourth-best mark in the league.

Malhotra has also played with the New York Rangers and Dallas in his career. He has 76 career goals and 121 assists.
