Schaefer stops 21 shots for shutout as Aeros blank Moose 3-0

HOUSTON - Nolan Schaefer made 21 saves for his fifth shutout of the season as the Houston Aeros blanked the Manitoba Moose 3-0 in an American Hockey League matinee Thursday.

Steve Kelly, Peter Olvecky and Maxim Noreau scored for the Aeros (20-15-1-2), who snapped Manitoba's four-game winning streak.

Drew MacIntyre was in the nets for the Moose (21-13-2-1), who have lost three straight games at Houston.

Over 9,000 schoolchildren were in attendance for the afternoon game.

The teams will face off again Saturday night.
