Senators coach Murray can't get into Ottawa restaurants because of fan crush

Murray said he took a friend to Ottawa's popular Byward Market area during the second round series against New Jersey "and there were lineups at all the bars and restaurants.

"I didn't get in because of the lineup. But it looked like there were a lot of people with Senators sweaters on coming from the game."

He was talking about how making it to the NHL Eastern Conference final is good for the local economy, but it is surprising he wasn't spotted and ushered in.

He joked that he'll have to put the word out to local restaurants.

"I'll say I know the players," he said.

NO STAFFORD - Sabres coach Lindy Ruff ruled out bringing rookie Drew Stafford back into the lineup. Stafford scored twice in nine games in the first two rounds, but has not seen action against Ottawa.

"He had a good year for us, but I don't think putting a young player in is the answer," said Ruff. "I think the answer lies in the room.

"We said as a team we're going to stick together on this one."

SPECIAL SENATORS - The Senators have the best special teams of the four clubs left in the playoffs.

Their power play has scored on 14 of 61 chances overall for a 23-per-cent success rate, but at home they have a stunning 35.7 per-cent efficiency rate, with 10 goals in 28 opportunities.

Going 0-18 with the man advantage in the series has dropped Buffalo to 11.7 per cent overall.

On penalty killing, Ottawa leads at 89.7 per cent. The Sabres are at a feeble 78.8 per cent.
