Senators eye fourth straight win, host Lightning
Tampa Bay (21-32-13) at Ottawa (26-29-10), 7:00 pm EDT
OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Senators will look for their fourth
consecutive victory Wednesday, when they square off against the
Tampa Bay Lightning.
All-Star Dany Heatley punctuated a key second-period spurt as
the Senators edged the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1, on Monday.
Captain Daniel Alfredsson also tallied and rookie Brian Elliott
made 25 saves as Ottawa improved to 4-2-1 over its season-long,
eight-game homestand.
"They didn't really have much because we kept them to the
outside," said Elliott, who is 10-4-3 with a 2.71 goals-against
average this season. "That's all you need for the guys, to be
aware of everything defensively."
The Lightning have lost three straight, including a 9-3
thrashing from the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
