BUFFALO, N.Y. - Ottawa forward and the NHL's goal-scoring leader Milan Michalek sustained an upper body injury and will not return for the remainder of the Senators' game against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.

Michalek was hurt in a collision with teammate Erik Carlson with about 5 1/2 minutes left in the second period. Michalek scored his 19th goal 1:09 into the game.

The Senators had no update except to announce shortly after the third period began that Michalek would not return.

Michalek has already scored more goals than all of last season, and is seven shy of matching his career high set in 2006-07 with San Jose.
