Senators scoring leader Spezza out indefinitely with knee injury

The team says forward Jason Spezza is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury in the second period of last night's 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Spezza's loss is a severe blow to the Senators, who had to do without forward Daniel Alfredsson and defencemen Wade Redden and Joe Corvo earlier this season.

The 23-year-old leads the team with 44 points, good for eighth in the NHL.

Mike Fisher took Spezza's place on the top line in this morning's practice.

The Senators' next game goes tomorrow afternoon in Philadelphia.
