Senators sign free agent forward Jesse Winchester to one-year deal

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators have signed free-agent forward Jesse Winchester to a one-year contract, the club announced Monday.

In 40 games with the Colgate University Red Raiders this season, he scored eight goals and added a team-and league-leading 29 assists for 37 points

The 6-1, 215-pounder played in 143 games over his four-year career with Colgate, scoring 40 goals and adding 74 assists for 114 points while adding 158 penalty minutes.

Winchester spent much of his amateur hockey career in the Ottawa area, playing for the Cornwall Colts of the Central Junior Hockey League before attending Colgate.
