Shark shows heart

Archie Yokota, Ottawa

Just wanted hockey fans and others to know the generosity and consideration of San Jose Sharks’ Dan Boyle.

Rene Faucher is a recreational league hockey player, playing in the Ken Platt hockey league in Ottawa, the same league that I play in, but in another division.

Two weeks ago, Rene had the misfortune of hitting a crack in the ice and hitting the boards, resulting in a broken neck and being in a paraplegic state.

I just heard on the radio station that is trying to raise funds for Rene and his family that Dan Boyle offered his 2006 Team Canada jersey signed by the entire team for auction.

What a gesture.
