Sharks start road trip, eyeing fourth straight win

San Jose (40-8-9) at Dallas (29-22-7), 8:00 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks open a four-game road

swing and aim for the their fourth consecutive victory Monday

when they visit the Dallas Stars.

The Sharks, who were knocked out of the playoffs last season by

the Stars in the Western Conference semifinals, currently own

the best record in the NHL.

Jeremy Roenick picked up his 700th career assist in his return

from a 10-week injury absence and Evgeni Nabokov made 22 saves

Saturday to lead San Jose to a 3-1 triumph over the Atlanta

Thrashers.

While the Sharks are on a three-game winning streak overall,

they enter this contest hoping to snap a three-game losing skid

on the road. San Jose also will visit Detroit, Ottawa and

Montreal on this trip.

The Stars are coming off Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Chicago

Blackhawks. Steve Ott netted the lone goal for Dallas, which

has won five of its last eight contests.

Marty Turco, who is 28-20-7 with a 2.80 goals-against average

and two shutouts this season, could extend his franchise record

to 30 starts in this one.
