Sidney Crosby becomes first NHLer to score 100 points this season
The Pittsburgh Penguins star beat New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist at 6:56 of the third period on Saturday afternoon to reach 100 points.
It was Crosby's 28th goal to go along with 72 assists.
The 19-year-old held a nine-point lead in scoring over Tampa Bay forwards Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis heading into play later Saturday.
Crosby had 102 points a year ago in his rookie season.
