Sidney Crosby, playing anywhere in Canada, will be a 2007-2008 highlight

A first: The 90th season begins in London with the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings becoming the first teams to play regular-season games in Europe. They face off on Sept. 29 and again on Sept. 30.

Crosby in Canada: League MVP Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are on Hockey Night In Canada with the Leafs on Oct. 13. They play in Ottawa on Nov. 22 and at Toronto again on Dec. 1. They'll be in Edmonton on Dec. 5, Calgary on Dec. 6 and Vancouver on Dec. 8. Crosby's remaining games in Canada are Jan. 19 and Feb. 21 at Montreal and March 1 at Ottawa.

Rematch: Stanley Cup finalists Anaheim and Ottawa meet only once, and that'll be March 3 on the West Coast where the Senators were ousted in Game 5 of the championship series in June.

Not so welcome home: Daniel Briere and Chris Drury, who left Buffalo to snatch big free-agent contracts, will have mixed emotions on returning to HSBC arena. Briere and the Philadelphia Flyers visit Dec. 21, while Drury and the New York Rangers don't drop by until Feb. 23.

Waiting for Scotty: The first sight of free-agent deserter Scott Gomez in New Jersey's new arena will be Nov. 14. The former Devils star is going to look strange in Rangers garb.
