Source: Detroit Red Wings acquire forward Todd Bertuzzi from Florida

Bertuzzi hasn't played since October and still isn't ready to return from back surgery. It was immediately clear what the Wings had to give up for Bertuzzi. He's earning US$5.27 million US this season but is due to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

In seven games with Florida, Bertuzzi recorded a goal and six assists. He's registered 224 goals and 312 assists in 717 games with the New York Islanders, Vancouver and Florida.
