St. Louis Blues acquire rights to centre Keith Tkachuk from Atlanta Thrashers

The Blues also acquired a conditional fourth-round pick in 2008 in the deal. The move gives St. Louis exclusive negotiating rights with Tkachuk until July 1, when he can become an unrestricted free agent.

The Blues dealt the 35-year-old American to the Thrashers on Feb. 25 for a package of draft picks and forward Glen Metropolit.

In 79 games for the Blues and Thrashers last season, Tkachuk had 27 goals and 31 assists for 58 points.
