St. Louis Blues without top two goalies after Legace knocked out by shot

Legace was placed on injured reserve Thursday, a day after sustaining the injury. The Blues recalled goalie Marek Schwarz from the AHL team in Peoria, Ill. The 20-year-old Schwarz will be the backup to Jason Bacashihua, recalled from Peoria on Dec. 1 when Curtis Sanford was sidelined with a groin injury.

Bacashihua, scheduled to start Thursday at Detroit, was 2-5-1 with a 3.78 goals-against average in Peoria.

Schwarz was the team's first-round pick in the 2004 entry draft and has appeared in 12 games for Peoria with a 9-2-0 record and .912 save percentage. He ranks fourth in the AHL with a 2.28 goals-against average and is tied for third with nine wins.
