Stafford scores twice, Climie makes 36 saves to lead Texas over Heat 6-1

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Garrett Stafford scored twice and Matt Climie made 36 saves to lead the Texas Stars over the Abbotsford Heat 6-1 on Friday in the AHL.

With the game tied 1-1, Stafford put the Stars ahead for good in the first period with his fourth of the year. He made it 3-1 at 1:39 of the second.

Francis Wathier, Sergei Korostin, Travis Morin and Aaron Gagnon also scored for Texas (26-13-7), which converted twice on the power play.

Jason Jaffray had the lone goal for Abbotsford (17-21-9).
