Stars defenceman Philippe Boucher sidelined four weeks with shoulder injury

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars defenceman Philippe Boucher underwent shoulder surgery Wednesday and was placed on the injured reserve list.

He'll be sidelined for at least four weeks. The Stars recalled winger Junior Lessard from their AHL affiliate in Iowa.

Boucher, 34, has one goal and 11 points in 28 games with Dallas this season. He is leading the team in blocked shots (54) and ranked second in average ice time (22:20).

The native of St. Apollinaire, Que., set career-highs last season in goals (19), assists (32) and points (51). He also tied a franchise record for goals and power-play goals (12) by a defencemen in one season.
