FRISCO, Texas - The Dallas Stars placed defenceman Sergei Zubov on injured reserve Thursday with a groin injury and recalled goaltender Tobias Stephan from Iowa of the AHL on an emergency basis.

Stephan was to join the Stars in Minnesota for their game against the Wild as a sore neck caused Marty Turco to skip the trip for precautionary reasons.

Zubov, 37, has missed the last seven games with the injury and also skipped the all-star game. He was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 17.

In 46 games this season, Zubov has four goals and 31 assists for 35 points, leading Dallas in assists and average time on ice (25:41).

Stephan, 24, made his NHL debut Oct. 13 at Chicago and stopped 38 shots in a 2-1 overtime loss. In 39 games with Iowa, he's 17-16-2 record with a 2.60 goals-against-average.
