Stars winger Ladislav Nagy to miss world championships due to hip injury

The 27-year-old Nagy, who scored 12 goals and had 43 assists this season, was ruled out with a hip joint injury, Slovakia's hockey federation said Thursday in a statement. Slovan Bratislava forward Marek Uram was called up by coach Julius Supler to replace Nagy.

Slovakia, the 2002 champions, are in Group C with Canada, Germany and Norway. The tournament in Russia begins Friday.
