Stars winger Miettinen awarded $885,000; Avery has arbitration hearing

Miettinen, 27, nearly doubled his salary of $450,000 last season, when he scored 11 goals with 14 assists in 74 games.

Meanwhile, Avery had his hearing Monday afternoon and a ruling is expected Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

Avery, 27, had a career high 48 points (18-30) last season with Los Angeles and the Rangers while providing his usual physical brand of game.

He's expected to get a raise from the $1.1 million he made last season.
