Steve Mason activated, Dan LaCosta sent back down to the AHL

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Blue Jackets activated goaltender Steve Mason off injured reserve on Friday and assigned Dan LaCosta to the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse.

Mason is expected to be in goal against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.

In his first two NHL starts, the 22-year-old LaCosta went 2-0 with a 1.54 GAA and a .950 save percentage, shutting out Colorado on Saturday night.
