Streaking Penguins go for sixth straight win

Buffalo (9-4-3) at Pittsburgh (10-4-2), 7:30 p.m. EST

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins look to continue

their winning ways on Saturday when they host the Buffalo

Sabres.

Pittsburgh has won its last five games, totaling 27 goals over

that span. Three of those wins have come beyond regulation.

The winning streak is the longest since Pittsburgh won eight

straight from December 23-January 10 last season.

Sidney Crosby had two goals and Alex Goligoski scored in the

sixth round of the shootout as the Penguins defeated the

Philadelphia Flyers, 5-4, on Thursday.

Center Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist, extending his

point streak to 12 games. The 22-year-old leads the league with

20 assists.

The Sabres got off to a fast start but have struggled of late,

dropping three of four.

Buffalo was trounced, 6-1, against Columbus on Friday - the most

goals it has allowed in a game this season.
