Struggling Sharks return home to face Oilers

Edmonton (29-23-4) at San Jose (37-8-9), 10:30 pm EST

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks hope a

return to home ice can end their woes.

Following a five-game road trip, the Sharks will look to end a

three-game slide when they return to the HP Pavilion on Tuesday

to host the Edmonton Oilers.

Owners of the best home record in the NHL, San Jose has posted a

1-2-4 record over its previous seven games - by far the club's

worst stretch of the campaign.

The Sharks, who have not lost four contests in a row all season,

are still a league-best 23-2-3 at home this season.

Captain Patrick Marleau and defenseman Rob Blake each recorded a

goal and an assist during Saturday's 6-5 setback to the New

Jersey Devils.

All-Star defenseman Sheldon Souray snapped a tie early in the

third period as the Oilers skated to a 3-1 triumph over the

Phoenix Coyotes on Monday.

Ales Hemsky and Shawn Horcoff recorded a goal and an assist

apiece, defenseman Tom Gilbert notched two assists and Dwayne

Roloson finished with 28 saves for Edmonton, which posted its

third straight victory.
