Sunday's NHL previews

Sunday's games involving Canadian teams:

Edmonton at Colorado, 3 p.m. ET

Oilers—Another difficult season comes to an end for Edmonton (25-45-11). The Oilers are guaranteed to finish last in the league for the second straight year. That leaves them pondering the next NHL draft, and the possibility of another No. 1 pick.

Avalanche—Colorado (29-44-8) looks to end a dismal season with a win at home. The Avalanche have lost four straight and are guaranteed to finish second-last in the league, just ahead of Edmonton. It's also the final game for Avs captain Adam Foote. He's retiring after a 19-year career.

The star-caliber players at the top of the Rangers lineup will need to be firing on all cylinders in this series in order to compensate for some lackluster depth in areas. And Igor Shesterkin needs to be the King he was in the regular season, too, to beat Carolina.
