Taking Original Six rivalries outside

First and foremost I am a diehard hockey fan; no other sport compares to hockey. I am a fan of the New York Rangers and Fort Wayne Komets of the IHL. Having said that, I will watch any game I am able to regardless of who is playing.

My wish is for the Winter Classic to be reserved for just the Original Six teams. I feel as the historic franchises of the NHL they deserve to be featured in such a magnificent setting. Nothing against the other teams, but they just don't have the history of the Original Six.

Some of the greatest rivalries in hockey have been diluted because of divisional play. The Winter Classic could help revive these rivalries in great outdoor venues. No matter what happens I'll still be watching the Winter Classic, but it's my hope it will be Original Six teams only.
