Tampa's Steven Stamkos breaks scoring slump in style with dazzling breakaway goal on Habs' Price

Lightning superstar Steven Stamkos hadn't scored in his first eight playoff games this year, but the 25-year-old Bolts captain ended that drought in style Sunday with an eye-popping breakaway goal on Canadiens phenom Carey Price in Game 2 of their second-round series.

After scoring eight goals in his previous 22 career NHL playoff games, Tampa Bay superstar center Steven Stamkos had yet to get his name on the goal-scorer's list with the Lightning in eight games this season. But in game 9 – which was also Game 2 of the Bolts' second-round series against the Canadiens – Stamkos put an end to that drought in style, deking star Habs goalie Carey Price out of his pads on a breakaway to give his team its first lead in Montreal Sunday night.

With the game tied at a goal apiece eight minutes into the second period, Stamkos took the puck on a brilliant pass from Lightning defenseman Jason Garrison, and the 25-year-old evaded two Canadiens defenders to break in all alone on Price before zigging while the game's best goaltender zagged:

Stamkos' goal was his fourth point of this post-season, but more importantly, it was the second of four consecutive Tampa Bay goals at Bell Centre that would put the visiting team up 4-1 and in the driver's seat heading into the third period.
